2013...A year for new beginnings

A lot of people brainstorm about their New Year's resolutions for weeks, or days, leading up to the beginning of a new year. Others, they wait until New Years Day to make them, or often change their mind within the first few days of the year as to what they want to change or accomplish in the year.

I want to loose 50 pounds, put some money away for a rainy day, and strengthen my relationships with my children, husband, family and friends. Do these New Year's resolutions sound anything like yours?

Whether they do or they don't, maybe we shouldn't wait for a brand new year to change something; perhaps we should do it every day. Perhaps we should be grateful for what we have and who we have it with and just ENJOY life. Perhaps we should worry not so much on loosing the extra baby weight of 9 years and just exercise and eat right to be healthy. Perhaps we should stop and smell the roses and the tulips and the lilacs and the sweet peas. Perhaps we need to realize that life is too short and worrying and obsessing about whether our house is clean enough for visitors is just silly; and that relaxing and making memories with loved ones is what it's all about.

So, no matter what your New Year's resolutions are, or whether or not you stick to them, may 2013 bring you as much happiness as you allow it.

TDmonthly: "2012: A Year of Charity"

We at Education Outdoors, Inc. are very proud to be involved with TDmonthly and their Year of Charity event.  We support charities near and far and wish that we could provide more to those in need.

This article discusses how our charitable donations have affected schools, specialty stores, and children through TDmonthly's 2012: A Year of Charity.

Have you donated to a charity this year?  If so, what charity?

The Year of Mysterious Creatures and Fishing Camp!

WOW!  It has been a while since anyone has updated our blog!  But now is as good as any time!

So far 2012 has been a great year for us!  We have welcomed about a new "crew" member, Theresa, and she is a great asset to our team and handles all aspects of the Education Outdoors world.  We have also gained a new rep group, Diverse Marketing, and are hoping that they will join us in our successes!

One thing that is pretty cool this year is that we have received some new awards!  This is very exciting! Our newest creation, Mysterious Creatures, was nominated for an ASTRA Award (but didn't win), but has won The Family Review Center's Seal of Approval!  One of our other games, Fishing Camp, won their Gold Award!  It truly is an honor working with The Family Review Center!

Also expanding this year has been our list of Mommy Bloggers and other game reviewers including, but not limited to, The Oddities of Parenthood, The Nap Time Reviewer, Mommy Ramblings, Bullock's Buzz, Growing Up Gabel, and so many more.  Look at our links under Bloggers for a full list!

Tim has been working hard around the office with creating new game ideas and at the first of the year we will  be making a BIG announcement!  SO STAY TUNED!

As always, feel free to contact us at CustomerService@EducationOutdoors.net!

Hiker runs into a mother bear and her cubs in “Hit the Trail”

Hiker runs into a mother bear

and her cubs in “Hit the Trail”

A new action packed card game from Education Outdoors, Inc. Coming to NY Toy Fair Booth# 6140

Eastport, MI January 2011: Can you be the first hiker to hike 100 miles in the new dice / card game “Hit the Trail”? The game is being released at Toy Fair 2011 from Education Outdoors , Inc. and is a unique, fast pace, nature inspired family game for ages 8+

How the game is played:

Deal 7 cards out to each player.

Each player picks a card and lays it face up. (This is where the strategy comes in) Do you pick a lower point card or a higher point card?

Youngest player then rolls the three dice – trying to match one of the die or combination of dice to their card amount which is face up. Each time the die/dice combination match the players card that is face up, the player gets to move the card into their “mile pile” trying to be the first to hike 100 miles. But, beware of getting caught with a “cooler card” – like the mother bear & cubs in the trail.

If you get caught with one of the three cooler cards – you loose 10 miles.

Other twists in the game include bonus rolls if the player’s dice total the card amount that is face up. Don’t forget to look out for the trips /doubles rule which is when any of the dice come up with doubles or triples. You take a card from the person to your right.

“Hit the Trail” comes packaged in a mini backpack which includes 72 cards, 3 dice, and 2 pencils.

For more information on selling this product stop by the Education Outdoors cabin Booth # 6140 at the NY Toy Fair Feb. 13th – 16th. Or contact tim@educationoutdoors.net | ph: 231-599-2763 | www.EducationOutdoors.net

Snipe Game Review and Giveaway

Check out the Snipe Game review on Hope's Cafe for a chance to win some great prizes from EO, Inc...

"The Snipe Hunt game is very unique and fun as well. Who hasn't heard of "Snipe Hunts" before?! You know, city boy visits the country, (usually snobby, making fun of the country boys). So, country boys decide to have some fun, and take him on a snipe hunting trip. Only...there is no such animal as a snipe! Well, now there is, and you and your family can enjoy snipe hunting! The "snipes" are really cute, and when removed from their nest, they start chirping and their eyes light up. This game is basically played like Capture the Flag, in that the two teams are racing to find the opposing team's snipe first. A lot of fun, and I like that it can be played outside or inside!"... read more
